UPF stands for Ultraviolet Protection Factor.

It is a rating system that measures how effectively a fabric blocks ultraviolet (UV) radiation from reaching the skin.

How UPF works

UPF indicates how much UV radiation passes through a fabric.

For example:

  • UPF 30 allows 1/30 of UV radiation through

  • UPF 50+ blocks over 98% of UV rays

The higher the UPF rating, the greater the protection.

Why UPF matters

Regular clothing is rarely tested for sun protection.
Two garments that look similar can perform very differently in the sun.

UPF testing provides:

  • A clear, measurable standard

  • Reliable protection you don’t have to guess

  • Confidence that the fabric performs as intended

It removes uncertainty from sun protection.

Protection that lasts

High-quality sun-protective fabrics are designed to maintain their UPF performance over time when properly cared for.

That means:

  • No reapplication

  • No fading effectiveness

  • No added steps to your routine

UPF is protection built into the garment — not something you have to manage.

Quiet confidence

UPF doesn’t change how a garment looks or feels.
It simply makes it work better.
